MOBILITY TRENDS
The trend towards shared mobility is expected to persist and grow in 2024 and governments are likely to introduce and reinforce regulations supporting sustainable mobility, while public awareness is increasing.
Shared mobility is also on the rise in Italy! 🇮🇹🎉🚀
Awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability and the adoption of more ecological lifestyles are increasingly pushing people to prefer sharing mobility solutions over the use of private vehicles.
As reported by the Osservatorio nazionale sharing mobility the overall demand levels strengthened over the last year. The total number of rentals grows by 41% (!) compared to 2021, while the number of kilometers traveled with shared vehicles approaches 200 million (+46%).
The overall turnover generated by vehicle sharing in Italy grows too, surpassing 178 million euros in 2022, marking an increase of 38% compared to 2021.
🚙🛵🛴 These positive signals indicate that the sharing mobility sector may continue to grow in the future, leading to a significant change in how people move in urban areas and throughout countries.

Some important highlights from December 2023
We pitched at the Takeoff event in Istanbul and were selected as finalists!
We concluded our residency in Malta. During the last three months we did market discovery activities in the island to assess the potential value of volvero for the tourism industry there.
The journey with the start-up programme Boost Your Ideas (Lazio Innova) has come to an end. During the demo day we secured two great awards from ENI Joule and Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato, opening up new commercial opportunities for volvero.
We collaborated with Nova Business School (Portugal): five candidates conducted a research analysis on advanced digital marketing strategy on behalf of volvero. This led to some significant insights.
And finally… you know Shark Tank, right? Well, we ended up there as well! Brace yourselves for the forthcoming episode!
What’s next?, we hear you asking…
Well, the Global Entrepreneurship Centre starts its catalyst scale-up programme and volvero is one of the participants. The aim of it is to refine the details of our expansion to market number 2 due in 2024.
